  I've stayed at Firmstone Manor three times in the past six years on bicycling vacations I've taken. (and plan to stay there again in 2008) I love the relaxed atmosphere. It's not frou-frou elegant or too cute. Other B&B's we stayed at seem _way_ too delicate and arranged. Firmstone has more of the atmosphere of staying at a friend's house--maybe a formerly affluent friend. The house is fabulous, and the proprietress is friendly and engaging. Her two dogs are a complete blast. The cat provided us with endless entertainment. Breakfasts were robust and delicious.
